Victoria and Albert Museum

The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, is an important museum of art and design. Its collections come from the entire world, span over 2000 years of history, and include a wide range of objects, such as ceramics, fashion, furniture, glass, metalwork, paintings,  photographs, prints, sculpture, and textile. Through this website it is possible to gain access online access to a large number of catalogue records and digitized items: in August 2014 over 1.1 million catalogue records and over 414.000 images of objects were available.

In order to search for digitized items, select ‘Only records with images’ when searching the collections of the V&A. Browsing the collections is possible when an individual object has already been selected: from there on, select ‘Related search links.’ Images are accompanied by detailed records. Images can be downloaded small-size, together with the catalogue record, in PDF format. Downloading high resolution images is possible upon registration.
