Liane stands for ‘LIvres et Archives Numériques En ligne.’ It provides access to all the material that has been digitized from the French region of Franche-Comté, through libraries, archives, and documentation centers of museums. This includes prints, photographs, postcards, manuscripts, maps and plans, archival material, and various other types of material.

It is possible to search the entire collection (both basic and advanced search available). In addition, users can search in various categories: ‘Généalogie’, ‘Images de Franche Comté’, ‘Histoire de Franche Comté’, ‘Presse et revues’, and ‘Trésors et curiosités.’ Browsing by keyword is also possible. Furthermore, there are thematic virtual exhibitions that combine items from multiple locations.

Items are shown on the website of the institution where they are kept. They are accompanied by metadata.

Liane has the following partners: Archives départementales du Doubs, Archives départementales du Territoire de Belfort , Médiathèque et archives municipales de Besançon, Médiathèque du Grand Dole et Archives municipales de Dole, and Médiathèque de Montbéliard. The project is financed by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, the region Franche-Comté, and the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
