Hakkı Tarık Us Ottoman Digital Archive
The Hakkı Tarık Us Collection, at the Beyazıt State Library in Istanbul, is a digital library consisting of books, journals, newspapers, yearbooks, almanacs for the Ottoman period classified, registered and digitized between 2003 and 2010. The “Project for Preservation and Digitization of Periodicals in the Hakkı Tarık Us Collection” for digitizing Ottoman periodicals (list of available titles) and preparing a catalogue of all periodicals, was jointly carried out by the Beyazıt State Library and the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies between 2003 and 2010. The Hakkı Tarık Us Collection is one of the most important Turkish private collections of books and periodicals. After Mr. Hakkı Tarık Us (1889-1956) passed away, an independent area was found within the Sibyan Mektebi area of the Beyazıt library complex to keep the collection. To view items from the Digital Library you need to install the DjVu plug-in in your browser.
