EU institutions websites - Historical Archives of the European Union

In September 2014, the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) have launched a project that aims to archive the websites of European Union institutions. Crawling software captures these contents at given intervals.

In November 2014, 30 websites had been archived, with crawls dating back to 2013. It is planned that, once fully operational, the web archiving exercise will expand to include also the various EU agencies, and will mount up to four complete archival snapshots per year.

In addition, the possibility is being investigated to complete the collections backwards through collaboration with the Internet Archive.

Websites are ordered alphabetically according to the names of EU institutions.

This project is carried out by the HAEU in collaboration with the Internet Memory Foundation. Based in Amsterdam and Paris, the Internet Memory Foundation (formerly European Archive) is a non-profit institution.

Since 2004, it actively supports the preservation of Internet as a new media.
