E-manuskripter - Det Kongelige Bibliotek

"The Royal Library in Copenhagen publishes selected parts of its collections on the Internet. Since 1997 the Manuscript Department has published complete digital facsimile editions of manuscripts.

Digital facsimile editions cannot replace the original manuscripts in all respects. Neither can printed facsimile editions. However, in respect to cost, access and preservation, digital facsimile publishing offers significant advantages: digital publishing can be done without great expense, and the manuscripts can be studied worldwide and for many purposes, without any manual handling of the fragile original material.

The Manuscript Department has published thematic web treatments of selected authors, often in connection with exhibitions at The Royal Library. Only the sections on Hans Christian Andersen and Søren Kierkegaard are in English.
