Digitale Sammlungen der Universitäts und Stadtbibliothek Köln
The Universitäts und Stadtbibliothek Köln (Cologne University and City Library) (USB) is the central library of the University of Cologne. The USB Digital Library offers online access to a large collection of newspapers, journals and other materials from its collections:
  • Rheinische journals: Journals, newspapers and monographs on the subject of Cologne (from 1780 to 1940).
  • Hallische Yearbooks: The Halle and the German year books 1838-1843.
  • Rheinisches Museum of Philology: The years between 1900 and 2007, the oldest journal of Archaeology.
  • Monographs 19th Century: Selected monographs of the 19th Centuries from the collection of USB Köln (under construction).
  • Memorial card collection of USB Köln: Memorial card from the stock of USB Köln .
  • Collection Alff: Pamphlets to Brabant and Liege Revolution from the period 1781 to 1825.
  • German-language literature and poetry - Wrapper: Bibliophile book covers special collections of the USB Köln.
  • Collection Westerholt: Books of the 18th and 19th century from the library of the Earl of Castle Westerholt Arenfels (under construction).
  • Belgium Luxembourg culture: Contents of 120 journals relating to Belgian and Luxembourgish culture.
  • Collection Botany / Zoology.
  • European cities and landscapes: Figures from the works of the 16th and 17th Century held by the USB Köln.
  • Grantha and Telugu prints: Prints from the Indian Institute of Indology and Tamil Studies at the University of Cologne.
The digital collections can be viewed by clicking on their titles from the home page and then on “zur Sammlung” to access the list of digitized documents. The collections can be browsed or searched in advanced search mode using various criteria.
