Digital Library of the Accademia dei Lincei

Digital Library of the Accademia dei Lincei is "part of the Italian Digital Library project promoted by the General Direction for Library Heritage and Cultural Institutes of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, the Institute and Museum of the History of Science (Museo Galileo) has begun a new thematic digital library project for the digitalization of printed works and manuscripts connected to the oldest Italian Academy, the Accademia dei Lincei (founded in 1603 by Federico Cesi). The first core includes in the works relative to the period from 1603-1630, largely conserved at the Biblioteca dell’Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei e Corsiniana in Rome."The Project has been realized with the contribution of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, General Direction for Library Heritage and Cultural Institutes, Department of Educational Policy and Cultural Heritage, Museum and Cultural Activity Libraries Service."

Books and letters in Italian and Latin are listed by alphabetical order of the name of the author together with single titles. A link with te idicatio "VAI" (Go!) allows users to consult the orginal document at the Museo Galileo - Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza located in Florence. The Galileo Museum digital library also indexed in EHPS, completes this specific digital library whch focus only on a short period of time at the beginnng of the 17th century.

Books can be read onlibe page by page and zooming activities can be performed on the original manuscript. The whole document can be downloaded as a PDF from a JPEG image.
