Cusanus-Portal offers a searchable full-text version of the critical edition of the Opera omnia of Nicholas of Cusa (Latin name: Nicolaus Cusanus, 1401-1464). His work extends to various fields, among which in particular philosophy and theology. The Opera omnia are available in the edition that was published between 1928 and 2004 by Verlag Felix Meiner (Hamburg) for the Heidelberger Akademie der Wissenschaften. In addition, the website offers translations of the works into a number of languages, which are linked to the original Latin text. There is also a lexicon on the life and works of Nicholas of Cusa, as well as a bibliography.

It is possible to read each of the works separately. In addition, users can search either the entire Opera omnia, or one or more works. They are given in modern edition. However, there is also a link (under ‘Opera – Baseler Druck’) to the digitization of an edition from Basel, 1565.

Cusanus-Portal is made by the Institut für Cusanus-Forschung at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Trier, and by the Kompetenzzentrums für elektronische Erschlieβungs- und Publikationsverfahren in der Geisteswissenschaften at the University of Trier. It was made for the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
