Biblioteca Valenciana Digital (BIVALDI)

Biblioteca Valenciana Digital (BIVALDI) was created in 2002 in order to provide a wide diffusion for the Valencian bibliographical heritage. It contains both literary and scientific Valencian works, as well as works that have been considered of greater interest for scientific research on Valencian bibliographical and cultural heritage. These works come from official Valencian libraries and institutions, but also from other ones, such as the Hispanic Society, Abadía de Montserrat, and the Biblioteca Nacional de Madrid.

Basic and advanced search are available. Under ‘Libros y manuscritos’ it is possible to browse the material according to type (manuscripts, incunables, etcetera) or century. Under ‘Fons Gràfic’ various types of images are available, sorted according to type: engravings, posters, photographs, maps and plans, ephemera, and postcards. ‘Hemeroteca’ contains a collection of digitized newspapers, while ‘Música’ contains sheet music. There are also some collections of sources about specific authors (under ‘Biblioteques d’autor’).

The material is shown in PDF format and can be downloaded.

Biblioteca Valenciana Digital is a project initiated by the Valencian government through Biblioteca Valenciana.
