Scène Européenne

Scène Européenne is a project on theatre in Europe from the beginning of the Renaissance until the Baroque. It brings together specialists from Italy, Spain, England, and France. The website is divided into three parts:

  • Théâtre anglais: publications about theatre in the Renaissance, particularly in England.
  • Traductions introuvables: primary sources that are difficult to access have been translated from English to French, from Spanish to French, and from French to English or Spanish. These texts concern English theatre from the Tudor period, French theatre from the Baroque period, and Spanish theatre from the Golden Age. Texts are shown in PDF format. They are accompanied by an introduction.
  • Regards croisés sur la scène Européenne: publication of the proceedings of conferences organized at the Centre d’Études Supérieures de la Renaissance, often in collaboration with other national or international research units.

‘Scène Européenne’ is a project of the Centre d’Études Supérieures de la Renaissance.
