Quijote interactivo

Quijote interactivo (‘Interactive Quixote’) is a project focusing on the first edition of Cervantes’ most important work, held at the Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE). It shows high definition digital images of the copies that the BNE holds of the first edition of Don Quixote, published in Madrid in 1605 and 1615 (1282 pages in total). Maps, engravings, and other content have been added to this (165 illustrations and maps in total, plus 37 front pages and covers), taken from 43 different editions of Don Quixote and from a further 21 works, all belonging to the BNE.

Free search in the entire work is possible. The work is shown two pages at a time. By clicking on ‘Ver transcripción’ a modern transcription is shown. Both versions can be downloaded in PDF format. The work is shown in high definition and zoom options are available.

This is a project by the BNE.
