Plutei della Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana
The Plutei della Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana is a digitization project of some 1.650 manuscripts belonging to the Plutei collection, and of some 18th century catalogs which describe them. The Plutei collection “consists of approximately 3.000 manuscripts and books which, rebound in red leather with the Medici arms, were arranged on the Library's benches in 1571 when the Laurenziana was first opened to the public. These items are listed in the catalog compiled by Giovanni Rondinelli and Baccio Valori in 1589.” All the manuscripts can be viewed online and, from there, saved or printed. The average JPEG resolution of the images is 100 to 150 dpi. Extensive search functions are available and clearly described on the following page. The Plutei collection is part of the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana. For more information about their collections, see: Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana Collections
