Nederlands fotomuseum

Nederlands fotomuseum in Rotterdam is the national museum of the Netherlands concerning photography. It has a collection of over 5 million images, dating from 1847 until the present day (mainly from the 20th century). The makers are usually Dutch nationals, but there are also some foreign photographers who spent longer periods in the Netherlands. The photos deal mainly with the history of Dutch photography and Dutch history.

Beeldbank (‘Image bank’) is a part of its website that contains digital images from the collection of the Nederlands fotomuseum. In November 2015 over 161.000 images were available.

It is possible to do a basic search in the collection, and to filter results by photographer, image selection, colour/black and white, keyword, continent/country, village/city, name, and period.

Photos are shown in high definition. Zoom options are available.
