Museum Boerhaave

The Museum Boerhaave in Leiden is the Dutch National Museum for the History of Science and Medicine (founded in 1931). It shows objects concerning the history of Dutch science from the Middle Ages onwards.

The section ‘Zoeken in de collectie’ on their website provides access to digital images of their collection: in June 2014 there were almost 50.000 items. These items are of different types: for example, illustrations from books, objects, maps, manuscripts, etc.

Basic search and advanced search options are available, as well as various ways to browse. By clicking on an image, the image is enlarged and information about the object is shown.
