Manuscripta Mediaevalia is an important portal, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), that gives access to western manuscripts (or catalogues of those manuscripts) from mostly German libraries. The portal can be searched in three ways:

• manuscripts: a catalogue of all manuscripts on the portal that can be searched by multiple criteria.
• collections of manuscripts: a topographical overview of manuscript collections in Germany (and some abroad).
• catalogues of manuscripts: a collection of digitised manuscript catalogues.
