Koninklijke Bibliotheek van België / Bibliothèque Royale de Belgique

This website gives access to the catalogue of the Royal Library of Belgium. Many thousands of items from their collections have been digitized and can be accessed online. By selecting ‘Only digitized collections’ it is possible to access digitized material. This includes both secondary literature as well as primary sources. Many different types of sources are available, such as a large collection of newspapers (it is also possible to browse these separately, under ‘Belgicapress’), postcards, transcriptions of speeches, coins, sheet music, and books. Much of the material is in Dutch or French, but other languages are present as well. The material ranges from the Middle Ages until the present day.

Advanced search is possible. The format in which the sources are shown varies. Some of the sources can be downloaded.
