Gramsci Source

Gramsci Source is a project launched by the the International Gramsci Society (IGS) which provides access to the digitized works of the Italian philosopher and politician Antonio Gramsci (1891-1937). The project is still in progress, and eventually aims to contain all of Gramsci’s works, accompanied by translations in various languages, the manuscripts of the main works, and several historical and critical works on Gramsci.

In May 2014, the website contained the text of Gramsci’s Prison Notebooks (with exception of the notebooks on translation). They can be browsed; either per notebook in its entirety, or per paragraph. It is possible to visualize more than one notebook or paragraph simultaneously, in different columns next to each other. It is possible to do a basic search in the text of all the Prison Notebooks. In the future, it will also be possible to download the texts.

Gramsci Source is maintained by IGS Italia and the Centro interuniversitario di ricerca per gli studi gramsciani.
