gahetNA - Dutch National Archives
The website gahetNA is a project of the Dutch Nationaal Archief (national archives) and provides a digital entry to its collections. The website is a collaboration of the Friends of the National Archives, the National Archives and Spaarnestad Photo. As part of the project, gahetNA also hosts over 500.000 photos and 600 maps that can be accessed online. Among the themes that are covered are the following:
  • Liberation of the Netherlands.
  • Top holdings of the National Archive.
  • KNVB photo albums (soccer).
  • photos Artis.
  • historical documents.
  • 100th birthday of Queen Juliana.
  • Top 2000 (music).
  • Elfstedentocht 100 years.
  • Maps Johannes Vingboons, ca. 1665.
  • Maps of Zuid-Holland.
  • Maps of the VOC.
  • Topographic maps.
  • Maps of the Atlantic World.
  • World War II.
The website can be searched using keywords or by advanced using date, location, creator, collection, or inventory number. Images are offered in medium-size resolution. Users can buy high-quality images online.
