Digital sources of Leiden University Library

Digital sources of Leiden University Library consists of two parts: Digital Humanities, for which a login is required, and Digital Special Collections, which is freely accessible. Digital Special Collections contains images of prints, drawings, maps, photographs, printed books and manuscripts, collection level descriptions, digital exhibitions and other digital objects of the special collections of Leiden University Library. These special collections are:

  • Collection guides
  • Drawings
  • Early printed books
  • Manuscripts, archives and letters
  • Maps or atlases
  • Oriental collections
  • Photographica
  • Photographs
  • Kern Institute
  • Prints

Both simple search and a wide range of advanced search options are available. Images are shown in high resolution, and are accompanied by information such as creator and dimensions. They can be downloaded.
