Christmas Truce 1914: Operation Plum Puddings

Christmas Truce 1914 is a website on the informal truce of Christmas 1914, when opposing troops met for a truce involving the singing of carols and exchange of gifts.

The site contains the transcriptions of letters that were written by British soldiers who took part in the truce and that were printed in UK regional papers.

The website is still in progress. In February 2014, about 80 letters from 100 newspapers had been transcribed by volunteers. They are sorted according to the region in which they were printed.
