Bosnian and Herzegovina memories. Unveiling personal memories on war and detention

Bosnian and Herzegovina memories. Unveiling personal memories on war and detention is a project in which 100 citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina from various social layers and regions have been interviewed with a video camera about their personal experiences during the Second World War and the recent war between 1991 and 1995. These interviews were carried out between 2011 and 2013.

In August 2014, 96 interviews were available online. They are sorted alphabetically in the category ‘Access to the interviews.’ They were all recorded in the Bosnian language. Transcriptions can be shown as subtitles in the video: both a transcription in Bosnian or a translation in English. It is possible to do a basic search in the text of the transcriptions and translations.

The project was funded by the Netherlands Embassy in Sarajevo and has been carried out by Centar za istraživačko novinarstvo, the Human Rights Center at the University of Sarajevo, Erasmus Studio, the Universiteit Twente, DANS, and Noterik.
