The Bibliothek für Bildungsgeschichtliche Forschung (Library for the History of Education, Germany) is part of the project Historische Bildungsforschung Online (HBO) (History of Education Research Online). HBO is a website for the history of educational research. It is sponsored by the Library for the History of Education of the German Institute for International Educational Research and the History of Education section of the German Society for Educational Science. The Digital Library contains three collections accessible from the right hand of the home page :
  • Scripta Paedagogica Online : Digital text archive of educational history of the German-speaking space. The digital package includes 176 journals with 243 773 articles published from 1766 onwards, as well as books and school programs or annual reports. The collection can be browsed in the advanced search mode according multiple criteria : author, date, title, keyword. The texts are accessible by clicking on the titles and then on the issue number.
  • Pictura Paedagogica Online : provides free access to educational historical figures. The portfolio currently includes more than 10,000 book illustrations dating from the Middle Ages to 1850 as well as historical postcards of the period 1870 to 1933. The collection can be searched by in various ways: simple or advanced search mode, index of persons and index of years. To view the digitized picture users must click directly on it.
  • Vox Paedagogica Online : is an emerging digital sound archive of German educational history of the 20th Century. Currently are available oral self-presentation of Emeritus education researchers and education researchers accessible from the index.
