Biblioteca Digital Siglo de Oro (BIDISO)

Biblioteca Digital Siglo de Oro (BIDISO) focuses on the literature, history, history of books and libraries, and art history of the 16th and 17th centuries in Spain. It provides access to databases and digitized editions (facsimile and transcriptions) concerning topics such as inventories and private and institutional libraries in the so-called Golden Age, emblems, encyclopaedias, and myths. The website also contains bibliographical information concerning these subjects.

The digital primary sources are divided into four categories: ‘Emblemática’, ‘Relaciones de sucesos’, ‘Poliantea’, and ‘Inventarios.’ Each category has diverse subcategories and diverse ways of accessing the sources. The sources are shown in a variety of ways, such as PDF format or TEI.

BIDISO is a project of the Seminario Interdisciplinar para Estudio de la Literature Áurea Española (SIELAE), the Universidade da Coruña, and various research projects financed by the Xunta de Galicia, the Spanish government, and the European Regional Development Fund.
